Resources Overview

Overview: Add detailed Resources to Procedures
Updated 5 days ago

A Resource is an explanatory reference connected to a Procedure or Step, such as written instructions, a document, a video, or a web page. A Procedure's or Step's Resources appear on its Guide tab, and on the Guide of every Assignment or Task made from it.

Guide showing Linked, Attached, and Embedded Resources

Each Procedure or Step has one detail field for instructions unique to it, but it can have many Resources. A Resource belongs to a Portfolio, so it can be reused on any of that Portfolio's Procedures and Steps.

Types of Resources

  • Embedded: formatted text written in TaskTrain.
  • Attached: an uploaded file, such as a PDF, an office document, an image, or an audio or video recording.
  • Linked: a web page.
  • Google Drive: a file from your Google Drive.

Resources, Materials, and Tools

A Resource explains the work. A Material is something the work consumes or produces, and a Tool is something the work is performed with. Use a Resource for how-to information, and Materials & Tools for what the work needs.

Remove or delete

Removing a Resource takes it off one Procedure or Step but keeps it in the Portfolio for reuse. Deleting it removes it permanently, everywhere. See Remove a Resource.
