Promote/Demote Procedure Steps

Step-by-step instructions: Indenting, and outdenting Procedure Steps
Updated 1 day ago

Steps can be nested up to four levels deep, breaking complex work into parts that are easy to follow and track. Portfolio Administrators and Leads may promote or demote Steps to change their place in the outline. A Step's Substeps move with it.

  1. View the Procedure's Steps, and select the Step to move.
  2. Promote or demote it:
    • Demote: press Ctrl+→ (⌘+→ on a Mac) to make the Step a Substep of the Step above it.
    • Promote: press Ctrl+← (⌘+← on a Mac) to make a Substep follow its former parent Step.
Procedure with Steps and Substeps

You can also drag a Step and drop it onto another Step to make it that Step's Substep. Steps are renumbered automatically.

Only Steps without Substeps can capture Fields.
