Each Assignment and Task has a Completion Status. Open statuses are Not Started, In Progress, On Hold, and Pending Approval; closed statuses are Completed, Skipped, Approved, and Rejected. You can change it from the list or the detail pane.
From the list
- Find the Assignment, or its Task.
- Press the Completion Status button at the left of its row, and choose a status.
Right-click the button (or press and hold it) to apply its quick action without the menu: an open Task is marked Completed (or, for an Approval Task, submitted for approval), and a Completed Task is reset to Not Started.
From the detail pane
Select the Assignment or Task and press a status button in the Progress panel of its Info tab. The caption below shows the current status.
Approval Tasks
A Task created from an Approval Step offers Submit for Approval instead of Completed. Its Approver then approves, returns, or rejects it. See Approve, Return, or Reject a Task.
Tasks with Subtasks
Completing or Skipping a Task that has open Subtasks asks you to confirm in the Update Child Tasks dialog: the open Subtasks are completed or skipped too, and any Approval Tasks among them are submitted for approval. Closed Subtasks stay as they are.
If a Task still needs Required Field values, TaskTrain asks you to confirm before closing it.
