Remove a Member from an Organization

Step-by-step instructions: Remove a member from your Organization
Updated 1 hour ago

Organization Administrators can remove a member from an Organization. The member's Account is deactivated: they lose access to its Portfolios, Procedures, and Assignments, and are sent an e-mail telling them so. Their TaskTrain sign-in and their memberships in other Organizations stay active. To remove yourself, see Leave an Organization.

  1. In the Navigation pane's Organization panel, select People, then select the member.
  2. Press the Actions tab in the detail pane.
  3. In the Disposal panel, press Remove from Organization….
Remove from Organization button in the Disposal panel of a member's Actions tab
  4. In the Remove Member dialog, press Remove.

Triggers that name the member

If any Triggers name the member as their Assignee or Requestor, or to fill a Role, the confirmation lists them and says where each Trigger's Assignments will go once the member is gone. Removing the member clears them from those Triggers, and each Trigger keeps starting Assignments, following its Procedure's own Default Assignee.

What else changes

  • Every Position the member filled becomes vacant. See Create and Manage Positions to fill it.
  • Their Portfolio Access is removed from every Portfolio in the Organization.
  • If the member wasn't a Guest, your plan's billed member count goes down.

When a member can't be removed

  • Only an Organization Administrator with a verified e-mail address can remove members.
  • An Organization must keep at least one Administrator with a verified e-mail address.
  • A member who is the only Administrator of a Portfolio can't be removed until you add another Administrator to that Portfolio, or delete it. See Update Portfolio Member Access.
