Criteria record the conditions around the work: what should happen before a Step starts, and what must be true before a Procedure or Step is finished. Portfolio Administrators and Leads may add them.
Exit Criteria
An Exit Criterion is a check the work must pass before the Procedure or Step is finished, such as "The laptop signs in with the new hire's account." Whoever completes or approves the work checks it.
- Select the Procedure or Step, then press the Info tab in the detail pane.
- Open the Exit Criteria panel and press the Add button.
- Enter the Criterion in the Add Exit Criterion dialog, then press Save.
Exit Criteria are shown on the Task's Guide under "Before completing", and are included in exports as Completion Criteria.
Entry Criteria
An Entry Criterion says a Step should not start until another Step in the same Procedure reaches a given status, such as "Should not start until Confirm the laptop is installed is Approved." Entry Criteria are added to Steps only.
- Select the Step and press the Info tab in the detail pane.
- Open the Entry Criteria panel and press the Add button.
- Complete the Add Entry Criterion dialog:
- Wait For: the Step this one waits on.
- Until It Is: the status that Step must reach: Completed, Approved, Skipped, In Progress, On Hold, or Pending Approval.
- Description: optionally, why the order matters.
- Press Save.
Entry Criteria are guidance: TaskTrain shows them on the Task's Guide under "Before starting" and includes them in exports, but it does not stop the Task from being started.
To change or delete a criterion, press its Actions menu.
