A Manual Trigger names a situation that should prompt a member to start a Procedure, such as "A candidate accepts a job offer" or "An asset is received". TaskTrain never starts it on its own: it documents when to assign the Procedure, so members know what to do when the situation arises. One Manual Trigger can link several Procedures that the same situation should start. Portfolio Administrators and Leads may create Manual Triggers.
Create a Manual Trigger
- Select the Procedure and press the Triggers tab in the detail pane.
- In the Manual panel, press the create button.
- In the Create Manual Trigger dialog, enter a Name for the prompting situation, and a Description of the cues to look for or how it differs from similar situations.
- Press Save.
Link more Procedures
A new Manual Trigger is linked to the Procedure you created it on. To link others:
- Press the Trigger in the Manual panel to open the Edit Manual Trigger dialog.
- Choose each Procedure in Linked Procedures. Press a Procedure's delete button to unlink it; a Trigger must keep at least one Procedure.
- Press Save.
Find what to start
Manual Triggers are gathered in two more places, so members can look up what to do when something happens:
- A Portfolio's Triggers tab lists the Manual Triggers of all its Procedures.
- The Triggers tab of Published Procedures, in the Navigation pane's Portfolios panel, lists the Manual Triggers across all the Portfolios you can access.
Expand a Trigger to see its linked Procedures, and press one to open it and assign it. Guests can't see Triggers.
